Dr. Michael West
Dr. West is the Chief Executive Officer of BioTime, Inc. (OTCBB: BTIM) and Embryome Sciences, Inc. of Alameda, California. The Companies are focused on developing an array of research and therapeutic products using human embryonic stem cell technology. He received his Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in 1989 concentrating on the biology of cellular aging. He has focused his academic and business career on the application of developmental biology to the age-related degenerative disease. He was the Founder of Geron Corporation of Menlo Park, California (Nasdaq: GERN) and from 1990 to 1998 he was a Director, and Vice President, where he initiated and managed programs in telomerase diagnostics, oligonucleotide-based telomerase inhibition as anti-tumor therapy, and the cloning and use of telomerase in telomerase-mediated therapy wherein telomerase is utilized to immortalize human cells. From 1995 to 1998 he organized and managed the research collaboration between Geron and its academic collaborators James Thomson and John Gearhart that led to the first isolation of human embryonic stem and human embryonic germ cells. From 1998 to 2007 he was President and Chief Scientific Officer at Advanced Cell Technology, Inc. (OTCBB: ACTC) where he managed programs in animal cloning, human somatic cell nuclear transfer, retinal differentiation, and ACTCellerate, a technology for the multiplex derivation and characterization of clonal human embryonic progenitor cell lines.

Robert W. Peabody, CPA

Robert W. Peabody, CPA, is our Senior Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer. Prior to joining BioTime, Mr. Peabody served as Vice
President-Grant Administration for Advanced Cell Technology, Inc (ACT)
and also served on their Board of Directors from 1998 to 2006. Mr.
Peabody has extensive experience in biotechnology investing and aiding
in the start ups of such companies as Geron Corporation. Mr. Peabody
spent 14 years as a Regional Controller for Ecolab, Inc., a Fortune 500
specialty chemical manufacturer and service company. He also has
experience in financial management, operations and supply chain
management, and has been an audit manager for Ernst and Young where he
was on the audit staff serving the firm’s clients whose shares are
publicly traded. Mr. Peabody received a Bachelor Degree in Business
Administration from The University of Michigan and is a Certified Public
Accountant. |

Steven A. Seinberg, J.D.

Steven A. Seinberg, J.D., is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of both Embryome Sciences, Inc. and BioTime, Inc. Mr. Seinberg has held these positions at BioTime since 2001. Prior to assuming these roles, Mr. Seinberg worked for over five years as BioTime's Director of Financial and Legal Research, a position that involved, among other duties, contract modifications and management of BioTime’s intellectual property portfolio. Mr. Seinberg received a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 1994, and is certified to practice law in California.

Judith Segall

Judith Segall is our Vice President of Operations and Secretary and a
member of the Office of the President, and has served on the Board of
Directors from 1990 through 1994, and from 1995 through the present
date. Ms. Segall received a B.S. in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics
from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989. |

Hal Sternberg, Ph.D.

Hal
Sternberg, Ph.D. is our Vice President of Research and a Member of the
Office of the President, and has served on the Board of Directors since
BioTime's inception in 1990. Dr. Sternberg played a key role in the
development of Biotime's plasma volume expander products. Dr. Sternberg
was a visiting scientist and research Associate at the University of
California at Berkeley from 1985-1988, where he supervised a team of
researchers studying Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Sternberg received his BS
in Biochemistry from SUNY at Stony Brook., a MS in Chemistry from the
University of Maryland in 1979, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the
University of Maryland in 1982. |

Harold D. Waitz, Ph.D.

Harold Waitz, Ph.D. is our Vice President of Engineering and Regulatory Affairs and a member of the Office of the President. He has also served on the Board of Directors since BioTime’s inception in 1990. Dr. Waitz has participated in the development of BioTime’s plasma volume expander and low temperature products and the marketing approval of Hextend. He is a co-author on numerous issued patents. Dr. Waitz received his BS in Engineering Science from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1963 and a Ph.D. in Biophysics and Medical Physics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983. |
